The Missouri Historical Society (MHS) is accepting applications from students who are interested in an unpaid internship within the community education and events department. The intern will assist MHS's technical coordinator with theatre-related tasks including theatrical lighting, sound, and general audiovisual applications at the Missouri History Museum. The intern will work with the technical coordinator, community education and events staff, the general public, and at times, outside productions.

The intern's responsibilities will include:

  • Hanging, gelling, focusing, and programming lighting designs
  • Running the lighting board during live performances
  • Setting up and running sound for live productions, events, and programs
  • Running documentary screenings and lecture presentations
  • Other duties as assigned

Because many events take place during evenings and weekends, the desired candidate will have a flexible schedule. A minimum of 12 hours of work per week is required. The final schedule will be determined with the supervisor.

The preferred candidate will be a sophomore or above with a GPA of 3.0 or better, majoring in theatre, performing arts, media studies, or another related field.
